We are spending a few days high up in the jungle cutting trees down, ready to rebuild Somdech’s longtail boat which was recently struck by lightning, here we are splitting the tree trunks into raw plank form, these planks will then be planed and shaped by hand ready to be installed to the boat, I make that sound easy, well it’s not, and this first stage in the jungle is not an easy task, the temperature here is in excess of 46 degrees, and extremely humid, with thousands of red ants and mosquitos, this is all being done stood on the edge of a steep mountain in the jungle.
