This Saturday 15th August, 9 members of the ‘Windmill Youth Group’ that are based in Blackpool England, will be running 10km whilst carrying an empty canoe, how epic is that!! 🤩
They are running from the Cenotaph to the Glitter Ball at 12 noon… why you might ask? well they are doing this to raise the much needed funds to help complete Somdech’s Longtail boat, which was recently struck by lightning on Phi Phi Island here in Thailand, they are hoping to raise enough money to replace the engine that was sadly destroyed in the storm.
Not only will they be carrying a very big heavy canoe, they will also be running with collection buckets, so if there’s enough support on the day from the public, this will complete the boat, enabling Somdech to get his boat back on the water and continue supplying fish for his family and all the other people in the village.
