Last night we had to contend with yet more Wild Boars here on the shores of Lake Volvi in Greece, in the middle of the night they come sniffing and snaughting around the tent and bikes, and these things can be pretty fierce!ย they can be even more dangerous than a bear as they have thick, razor-sharp tusks, and a razor-sharp mind, the hogs are the 4th most intelligent animal in the world, and can weigh 660 lbs and show extremely aggressive and unpredictable behaviour, luckily they left us alone again, but you never get a good nights sleep with these fellas sniffing and snaughting around you!
Since setting off on our World Cycling Tour weโve been living from our tent โfor 8 monthsโ and 3 months of that has included rain, wind, sub zero temperatures with snow and ice, waking up in a frozen tent and frozen clothes takes some motivation to get out into the cold and start pedalling to the next destination. Itโs another cold and icy morning, but we now have the early morning sunshine which soon defrosts your clothes, spring is just around the corner, and so is Turkey, we are only one week away, so soon no more frosty mornings, but also no more leisurely cycling, as from the moment we enter Turkey and everywhere else in the world we will be on visas, so weโll be cycling to a timescale!ย
I don’t know how you do it, I hate being cold! xx
