Country 18 – Azerbaijan! this is the most thorough security checks at a border yet, checked our bags, papers..militarily check, police checks, customs checks… kept asking if I had a gnome?? WTF.. I said yes at home but not on me, why would I carry a garden gnome? anyway finally made it through, but it’s about 45 degrees, now time to find somewhere to pitch the tent, that’s going to be a boil in the bag job – anyway first impressions, the People of Azerbaijan seem very friendly, so all good for first day.
